About CCDB - The Alvin D. Lichtenstein Award

The Alvin D. Lichtenstein Award

"... for remarkable accomplishments over a lifetime of distinguished service ..."

The Alvin D. Lichtenstein Lifetime Achievement Award This award is given by the CCDB in recognition of remarkable accomplishments over a lifetime of distinguished service through legal, legislative, journalistic or humanitarian pursuits to a person who has striven to ensure the humane and just treatment of those accused of crime. This award was created by the 1998-1999 CCDB Board of Directors to honor those rare, unique individuals who have positively contributed to the criminal justice system and whose contribution has been demonstrated throughout their long and distinguished careers. Designed to recognize those exceptional people who have consistently promoted and protected the principles that the CCDB was created to preserve, the award is periodically based on circumstances presented to and judged worthy by the Board of Directors.
