Policy Development

-                      Lobby Activities – Whether or not you regularly draw resources from the CCDB, your membership supports our ongoing effort to develop sound policies that affect the innocent, the accused, the defense practitioners, and those caught in our criminal justice system.  The CCDB maintains a lobbyist and an active Legislative Committee 1) to pursue legislation that promotes fairness, equity, and equality in our criminal justice system; and 2) to resist yearly onslaught of “tough-on-crime” legislation that is introduced.

-                      Amicus Committee Activities – Your membership supports our effort to weigh in on appellate cases that will impact broad issues of Colorado Criminal Law and Procedure.  Our Amicus Committee monitors cases before the Colorado Court of Appeals and Supreme Court and weighs in with Amicus Briefs on issues that have a broad impact on the criminal law and justice system.  Often our amicus activity is the direct result of requests from our members.
